OUR SERVICES
STRATEGIC AND EXCLUSIVE SUPPORT FOR COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT
Every brand possesses a unique story, a distinctive DNA, and a market positioning that makes it inimitable. With the mission and ambition to become the strategic partner of brands, and not just an external supplier, the company has invested in highly qualified resources with international experience and advanced skills in design, product development, merchandising, and style.
Our Brand Development structure collaborates closely with brands during the collection development phase, offering support through the following activities:
Understanding and assimilating the fundamental values of the brand's DNA and its target audience.
Defining and sharing the competitive arena perimeter of the brand, identifying its main competitors.
Conducting a detailed benchmarking of the competitors' leather accessories offerings, analyzing:
· DESIGN CONTENT
· QUALITY OF LEATHERS
· FUNCTIONALITY OF USE
· PRICE POSITIONING
· PRODUCTION ORIGIN ("MADE IN")
· HERO PRODUCTS
This "brand-centric" approach allows us to be proactive and not mere executors, representing the innovative element of our value proposition.
UNCOMPROMISING QUALITY AND CUSTOMIZED COST SOLUTIONS
Starting from a structured process based on design to cost, we have identified and implemented, while maintaining our quality standards, various customized solutions tailored to the brand's offering type and business model.
We have developed a business model that allows, for each segment of the offering, a differentiated and distinctive approach in terms of delivery times, sourcing, and costs, specifically for:
· Prototyping and sampling
· Production of seasonal items
· Production of NOOS, Carry Over, and continuous items
· "Fast tracking" productions for replenishments and/or products with very short production lead times ("just in time")
Our proprietary production units are located in Italy (Emilia Romagna) and Tunisia. The latter, equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, Italian technicians on-site, and a high level of attention to quality that must meet "Duemutti" standards, allow us to achieve very interesting costs and margins for brands that do not require Made in Italy.
MODELING, DESIGN, PROTOTYPING, INDUSTRIALIZATION
At the beginning of every new project, the MDPI collaborates with the client to develop and coordinate all the technical studies necessary for the creation of new models. Starting from a model designed by a designer, the MDPI analyses the bag and models it using specific design tools, adhering to the designer's specifications and projecting it into a precise manufacturing process.
LAYOUT
Our role is to optimize the use of raw materials, combining artisanal experience and advanced technology to maximize the efficiency of each leather piece. With our strategies, we balance productivity and quality, meeting the market's sustainability and innovation demands.
INDUSTRIALIZATION
Industrialization in leather goods has marked a fundamental turning point for us, allowing us to combine our artisanal tradition with the most advanced technological innovations. This journey has enabled us to significantly improve our production efficiency and the quality of our final products. Thanks to this transformation, we have become more competitive and sustainable, successfully meeting the needs of an ever-evolving market.
PRODUCTION PLANNING AND COMMUNICATION
Our company excels in the efficient management of the production process, ensuring careful monitoring and transparent communication at every stage.
Here's how we develop the planning and communicate the production progress:
SOURCING: We select reliable suppliers and plan timely deliveries, keeping clients informed about the status of their orders.
RAW MATERIAL QUALITY CONTROL: We perform rigorous checks and communicate the results, ensuring compliance with the required standards.
CUTTING AND WASTE CONFIRMATION: We optimize the cutting process to minimize waste and provide detailed reports on waste percentages.
ASSEMBLY: We organize the assembly process with precision, updating clients on the progress.
FINISHED PRODUCT QUALITY CONTROL: We verify the quality of the finished products and share the results with clients.
PACKAGING: We use high-quality materials for packaging, informing clients about the safety measures taken.
SHIPPING: We coordinate reliable shipments and provide tracking numbers and real-time updates.
Our ability to plan and communicate effectively allows us to maintain high-quality standards and meet client expectations at every stage of the process.
THE CUTTING PROCESS
The cutter initiates the manufacturing of a product. With an expert eye and a deep understanding of the material, they are able to examine the leather and mark any defects or areas to avoid during cutting.
The next phase involves cutting the leather, either manually with a press or using a digital cutting machine. The resulting pieces are then used to assemble the product.
The primary task of the cutter is to avoid defects in the material, consider the tactile feel of the leather, and minimize waste.
PREPARATION
Splitting (reducing the thickness of the leather for assembling the pieces), gluing, finishing, bench colouring, fleshing, and punching are all meticulous operations that constitute the preparation phase of a product before its assembly. Each component that will form the final product is perfected before being assembled.
ASSEMBLY
The product now begins to take shape. Glued and stitched, either by hand or machine, the assembly phases allow the bag, suitcase, wallet, or fashion accessory to assume their final form. The leather craftsman reinforces, softens, embellishes, and shapes the various parts of the product to create the finished item.
Stitching is a fundamental element of this assembly phase, both for decoration and for joining the pieces. Although flat stitching is accessible to all, the true complexity of the craft lies in the use of post bed machines and arm machines, which require high technical skill. Depending on the product, stitching can also be done by hand, with artisanal expertise.
QUALITY CONTROL
Quality control is a fundamental process that must be carried out at every stage of the production of our bags, with the aim of identifying any defects or inconsistencies before they become problems. To ensure high quality, we have instituted a rigorous inspection process that includes: checking the quality of raw materials, checking cutting and stitching, supervising assembly and evaluating the finished product. This process is certified with a document attesting to the conformity of the product and any corrections made.
LOGISTICS
Logistics chain management is an essential thread throughout the product life cycle. From the procurement of raw materials to receipt, from preparation and provision of parts for the laboratory to shipping and planning, the list of activities is long and indispensable. The supply chain service acts as a link between external suppliers and the internal manufacturing organisation, managing the flow of information and products to meet our time and cost commitments to customers.
